Mary & Alejandro, Abington Art Center

Mary & Alex had two ceremonies on their wedding day!  First, they had a quaint Catholic ceremony at St. Mary’s Chapel, a brand new addition to Immaculate Conception Church in Jenkintown.  In fact, their wedding was the very first one held in the beautiful small chapel, perfect  for a small ceremony.  Mary & Alex’s second ceremony included all of their guests and was held outdoors at the Abington Art Center, where I am a referred vendor. I love to photograph weddings at this venue, it offers the perfect combination of nature and art and has so many creative photographic possibilities!

For the first ceremony, Mary wore a vintage wedding gown, originally worn by her grandmother.  I love this photo of Mary!

Alex has a great smile when first sees Mary.   It’s quite interesting the contrast in his and Monsignor Conahan expressions!

One way to help a bride look fabulous in her gown is…her posture!  Mary is a physical therapist and her great posture was obvious to me when we first met. Usually, when I notice excellent posture, the bride has had formal ballet class when she was a child.  After the wedding, when I am in the detailed process of editing a couple’s photos, I can then really tell how the bride moves and her posture.  So, brides-to-be, here is a suggestion to start being conscious of your posture!

Mary changed her corset ribbon, put on a slip underneath her dress, and decorated her shoes, all in the accent color of bright red. The now accented dress looked stellar during her and Alex’s first dance, a choreographed Tango. Their dance was complimentary to Alex’s Argentine heritage.  Fabulous lighting  by  Marc Fisher Entertainment.

Mary & Alex headed off for a Mediterranean cruise!  The cruise began from Venice, Italy, this gives me the opportunity to display some of my photos from a family trip to Venice in 2003.  One of the things that was most interesting to me about Venice, was how difficult it would be to live there and how the locals adjusted to it.

Above is my 18 month old child bathed in stained glass windowlight.  I think this is pretty much her most peaceful moment during our 3 week adventure through Italy.

There are nuts all over Europe, they just seem to be more creative in Venice!
